In September 2024, I had the wonderful opportunity to open the 124th Theresianisten-Picknick, a traditional viennese ball, with the Seguidilla and Habanera from Bizets’ Carmen.
Palais Niederösterreich Ball Opening
In June 2024, I performed the Barcarolle from J. Offenbachs’ Les Contes de Hoffmann with orchestra in Styria, Austria. Additionally, we staged various choir pieces from the classical operatic repertoire, ranging from Bellini’s Norma to Puccini’s Madame Butterfly.
In September 2022, I concluded a busy year with the ball opening of the 122th Theresianisten-Picknick, where I sang Maffio Orsini’s drinking song from G. Donizetti’s Lucrezia Borgia (without getting poisoned ;)).
Retirada - in die Beste aller Welten
2021 to 2022 I participated in Theater an der Wien’s Youth project “Retirada - in die Beste aller Welten”. During this time, we developed a musical theatre project based on Voltaire’s Candide, dealing with the question of optimism vs. pessimism. Operatic as well as theatrical elements were incorporated into our performance, which took place in the streets of Vienna and the Kammeroper.
Stabat Mater (G. B. Pergolesi)
2022, I sang G. B. Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater in Kalwang, Styria. Staying true to the baroque original, we performed a version for two soloists with string orchestra and organ, of which I sang the alto part.
Lucia di Lammermoor (G. Donizetti)
2021, after delays due to Covid-19, we could finally stage Lucia di Lammermoor by G. Donizetti. I played Normanno, an evil henchman to Lucia’s brother Enrico. To make the italian opera more accessible to an austrian audience, we performed recitatives in german, adding an additional challenge for the singers involved.
Der Zigeunerbaron (J. Strauss II)
2018 I debuted as Czipra in J. Strauss II’s operetta “Der Zigeunerbaron” (the Gypsy Baron), The staged performances took place in Schloss Ehrnau, Styria, with orchestra and choir.
In the summer of 2022, I sang Prince Orlofsky in a staged operetta production, combining the ball scene of Johann Strauss II’s “Die Fledermaus” (“The Bat”) with various other pieces from the operetta repertoire.
In 2019, I sang Cherubino’s second aria in “Mozart’s Mann und Weib”, where we combined four Mozart works into one story about the perils of love. Together with the page from Nozze di Figaro, I had a speaking role as Monostatos. Our performances were staged in Stadttheater Leoben, Styria.
